A cyclist exposed himself to a teenage girl on a York bike path, police have said.

The man, said to be in his 30s, was on a black bicycle when he flashed at the 14-year-old below the bridge under Haxby Road, near Kitchener Street, between 08:30 and 08:50 BST on 16 May.

North Yorkshire Police described the man as white with a slim build. He had very short brown hair and a short, dark brown beard, a spokesperson said.

He was believed to be wearing a black jacket and dark blue jeans at the time.

He approached the victim from the Clifton direction and rode off towards York afterwards, the spokesperson added.

The force asked anyone who was in the area at the time or may have information to get in touch.
