Ernest Vincent Clwyd Crumpton was described as the Keir Hardy of the Leamington Spa Labour Party. I do not know if he purchased this typewriter in the year it was built, 1932, or sometime later.
As a child I saw him use it to write to the local paper, letters for the Labour Party and the Old Age Pensioners Association, his poems and stories including a history of the Leamington Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Guard. If he did have it from new it would have typed letters for the National Union of Railway Men, for which he was a representative.
A type writer for the people.
