This collapsible bicycle was used by soldiers serving in France during the Second World War. The bike is still fully functional and can be folded up, so as to become portable. It's painted in a dark colour for camouflage purposes and you will notice that even the lamp at the front of the bike had a cover on it, so it wouldn't get spotted by the enemy.

My husband's father had one in the 1950s and recollects it being quite a stilish bike. However, he remembers that it originally only had a foot bar, rather than a pedal. His father also got replacement pedals as in this one, and added on mud guards as well.
